The incident affecting subscriber bandwidth occurred at 13:37 EST when a fiber cable located along Columbia Turnpike intersection of Hanover Rd in Florham Park, NJ was damaged due to a Dump Truck crashing into Traffic Light pole and snagging our carrier’s strand, and damaged a 144ct Fiber (clean cut). Fiber teams replaced the damaged cable completing the repair operations at around 10:02 PM EST.
Our over the air backup solution maintained connectivity but during peak hours some of our subscribers experienced slower than normal internet speeds. In our continued effort to improve our service, we are immediately introducing another Gigabit of bandwidth to our backup circuits. This addition will increase our available bandwidth and provide another level of redundancy in the event of a crisis.
Best Regards,
Gold Coast Broadband
